"Alpha Complexity" was a term used by a group of Commie_Mutant_Traitors that I encountered during a Troubleshooting mission in the TTH sector. This group had subverted several R&D personnel in the area and had used their connections to acquire a number of illegal pieces of computer technology. They claimed that they were attempting to "evolve" an "artificial intelligence" that they would use to secretly replace Friend Computer. However, in order for this plan to succeed, they needed the "AI" to be capable of taking over all of Friend Computer's functions, hence it needed to develop "Alpha Complexity." I am sure their plan never could have succeeded, but just to be sure I destroyed their equipment after executing them (and the members of my team who had been subverted by their lies).
The links between this group and Tuesday_Afternoon_Conspiracy have never been fully understood, but its is clear that both groups had substantial technical skills. Perhaps they had a acquired a prototype of the Helmet_Of_Education? Such a leak would explain a number of things about both groups, but it would have to involve a very highly-placed traitor.
Today I intercepted part of a coded message to Screwz-U-BAD-3 containing the phrase "Alpha Complexity."
