Gamma Class Security Field
Along with the Chi, Rho, and Sigma class security fields, an S-type field, that is, one that reliably (94.36% of time) induces Molecular_Dissolution_Reactions in matter passing through, while allowing visible-range (and some lower-band) electromagnetic radiation to pass through. The most reliable of the S-type fields, and indicated where a maximum of reliability and intruder-fatality is of the utmost importance. Personally, I prefer Upsilon Class Security Fields (L-types, dangerous only to organic matter), as the lower risk of damage to Computer Property is no small benefit.
Of course, such reliability and spectacular destruction only come at a high price -- an entire BrightHappyComplex class reactor's output is required for a field more than a few feet across -- but where the item to be secured is traitorous in nature and highly dangerous, nothing else will do.
Only 3 Gamma Class Security Fields have been in long-term operation in Alpha Complex. One is guarding Lenin's_Tooth, one is maintained around the (believed) original Gatzmann_Archives, and the third was maintained by a quarter-portion of the power from each of Nuclear Facility ROC-361, Nuclear Facility RON-372/A, Nuclear Facility ROD-182/C, and Nuclear Facility ROM-38. Needless to say, when the events precipitating the Four_Reactor_Foam_Flood shut all four of these reactors down simultaneously, power to it was lost, and The Little_Red_Disk was momentarily only protected by its complement of guards. The Flood itself, of course, may have been beneficial in that that notoriously treasonous object was kept out of the wrong hands (while the Flood dissolved all the guards, it seemed also to have dissolved a cabal of RED-Clearance_Revolution traitors seeking the disk.)
In light of this, it seems even more doubtful that the Four_Reactor_Foam_Flood was accidental, and considering that the Little_Red_Disk did, in fact, vanish during the Toothpaste_Disaster, it would seem more obvious than ever that the two events were closely related.

Commentary:
What is the possibility that the Little_Red_Disk was destroyed instead of stolen away during the Four_Reactor_Foam_Flood? The effects of Triboromethylene and Beta Toxiborosystene on organic matter are well-documented in the FRFF entry, but what of something like the Disk?

The disk is, as far as my research has indicated, entirely inorganic. And while the Four_Reactor_Foam_Flood did not precede the Disaster itself by long, it was long enough to resecure the Little_Red_Disk -- though no Gamma_Class_Security_Field was used in what was thought (and unfortunately proved) to be only a temporary holding location.
